OFF TO SPAIN WITH THE LEICA S (TYP 007), EXPLORING FOR A NEW WORKSHOP ON THE ATLANTIC COASTS OF SPAIN!

My camera bag is ready, and my car is fuelled up! After a few months spent home getting acquainted with my new Leica S (Typ 007), printing photographs and writing articles and reviews, it’s finally time to hit the road again.

Last year I spent a couple of weeks exploring the northern Atlantic Coast of Spain. I have been so impressed by the raw beauty of this area that I decided to organise a Workshop there, to share the wonders of this unexplored coast with like-minded photography enthusiasts and nature lovers. In order to do so, as I always do, I organised a second exploration of the area to deepen my knowledge of these amazing coasts, enlarge my Portfolio and perfect the Workshop’s organisation. I am planning on spending about three weeks in Spain this time, staying as long as it is necessary for me to be happy with my photography work and with the Workshop’s organisation.

This will be my first serious outing with my new Leica S (Typ 007) and my first serious trial of the Leica S system in the field. For this trip, in my bag you’ll find the Leica S (Typ 007), equipped with the Leica Super-Elmar-S 24mm f/3.5, the Leica Summarit-S 35mm f/2.5 and the Leica Summarit-S 70mm f/2.5. As a backup and to extend my range into ultra-wideangle territories, I’ll bring my Leica SL (Typ 601) with the Voigtlander Super Wide-Heliar 15mm f/4.5 III, the Voigtlander Ultra-Wide Heliar 12mm f/5.6 I, and the Voigtlander Heliar-Hyper Wide 10mm f/5.6. I’ll of course bring both Leica S-Adapter T and Leica M-Adapter T along as well.

Asturians and Northern Spain Photography Workshop

As always, I’ll bring with me my trusted set of Formatt-Hitech Firecrest filters as well. In particular, I’ll have my Grad NDs (0.6, 0.9, 1.5), solid NDs (3, 6, 10 and 13 stops) and a circular polariser. I will bring along the new Formatt-Hitech Firecrest 100mm Filter Holder as well, to test it in the field.

If you are interested in more information about square filters, please see my BEST FILTERS FOR LANDSCAPE PHOTOGRAPHY and BEST 100MM FILTER HOLDER FOR LANDSCAPE PHOTOGRAPHY articles for more info on how to find the best filters for your Landscape photography.

On my way back, I will stop at the Cinque Terre in Italy as well, also to do my preliminary work to organise a Workshop in this wonderful corner of Italy. Below, enjoy some photos taken in Spain last year (click on the image to enlarge):

Disclaimer: At the time of writing, I am a Leica Ambassador. That said, I am a professional photographer looking for the best equipment for my work, I buy all my gear with my hard-earned cash and I don’t get paid by anyone to write articles for my blog.
